Saturday, we went to dinner at Dali, Restaurant and Tapas Bar, with a group of our friends for birthday celebration. Everyone ordered like 3 dishes, took some, and passed it around. Damn tasty food. After the meal was over, the lights dim and the waiters bring out candles for me and the other birthday girl, sing a song in spanish, dance around, and tell us to blow out our candles. After dessert and after all the birthday presents were unwrapped, josh turns to me and asks me if I'm ready for my present....
More after the jump...
...I say, "of course" and he turns my chair to face his, reached into his camera bag (no camera in there; he had slyly slid it over to our friend sitting next to him), pulls out a black leather bag, reaches in and pulls out a little blue box. As I untie the white bow uncovering the Tiffany's label, someone across the table yells, "BOX!" and now the whole table is watching. Josh lifts the lid off and takes out the black velvet box in side, fumbles with opening it, and shows me the ring. I am by now both crying and beaming; he looks nervous as hell.
"Will you marry me?"
"Yes."
cry, laugh, hug, wow this thing is heavy.
He wants to see it because he barely remembers what it looks like. Our friends want to see it, they cant believe it. The lights dim, the spanish waiters come back out, plop down a veil on my head set a candle down in front of me, sing a song and dance around. I want to call my family. So does he. Our friends want to post it on Facebook and Yehoodi. Happiness ensues.
A month later, I take myself to Tiffany's and buy Joshua an engagement ring on the sly. Tiffany's birthday surprise for him too!
